Why Stars?

Messaging is at the forefront of how we stay connected with those we care about. Every day, billions of messages are sent over various messaging services. However, with this convenience comes serious challenges. Bullying, grooming, stalking and spam are an unfortunate but very real part of these services.

Once your contact information—whether a phone number or username—falls into the wrong hands, there is no way to control who can connect to you. Additionally, on most messaging platforms, your profile is publicly accessible. Changing your number or username can only serve as a temporary solution - it doesn’t prevent the same issues from resurfacing.

As a parent, I was just not willing to expose kids to these problems! Thus, Stars was born.

We are on a mission of creating the safest communication service for every kid and family across the world. Welcome to the World of Private, Fun Messaging - Welcome to Stars! We are just getting started, and we hope you Join us!

FAQ

How is Stars Safe?
On most messaging services, once your username or phone number is discovered, anyone can message you. People can simply search for you and start a conversation.

With Stars, you need both the username and Friend Code to connect with someone. Your profile and Friend Code are private, and there is no public search on Stars. You can reset your Friend Code at any time.

All groups on Stars are private and require both a group number and group code to join.

With a changeable Friend Code, No Search and Prvate groups, you are always in control on who can connect with you on Stars.
Does Stars sell user data? What about money?
Stars is built on principles of safety and privacy. We do not, and will not sell your data to anyone to make money. We are not building a machine to maximise addictive scrolling and time spend - the present day drug. We are building a service that provides a valuable service to you, our user.

We plan to make money by providing additional services on Stars that make things easier for you on Stars. For example, We recently launched Parent View, which for a small fee makes it very convenient for parents to be informed about their child's activity on Stars and get instant notifications.
How do I Get Started?
Stars is fun with friends and family.

To get started, invite them to download Stars. Ask them for their Username and Friend Code so you can add them as a friend. You can also create a group and ask them to join your group using the group number and code.
To add a friend on Stars, you need their:
- Username
- Friend Code
You will be able to message them after they accept your add request.
If you ever get an add request from anyone you don't know, or do not wish to communicate with, decline the request and reset your Friend Code. After resetting, they will not be able to send another request to you. If you want to stop talking to someone you’re currently friends with, remove them as a friend, and reset your Friend Code. They will have no way to contact you again.
When you reset your Friend Code, you’ll still be friends with everyone you’re currently friends with on Stars. Any new friends that want to send a request to you will need your new Friend Code.
